Quiz Battle ("Quiz Battle", "we", "us" or "our") operates the Quiz Battle mobile game and the related website and services (together, the "Game"). This policy explains what personal information we collect when you play, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.
By creating an account, signing in, or playing as a guest, you confirm that you have read and understood this policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the Game.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Information you give us
- Account details — your display name, username, email address and password. Passwords are stored only as a salted one-way hash; we cannot read them.
- Optional profile details — profile photo, age, gender, mobile number and country. The Game works without these, and you can remove them at any time from your profile.
- Google sign-in — if you choose to sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. We never see or receive your Google password.
- Things you choose to send us — in-app feedback, ratings, reports about a question, and any support message you email us.
1.2 Information collected automatically when you play
- Device and app information — a device identifier, device model, operating system version, app version, language and time zone.
- Gameplay information — matches played, questions answered, correct and incorrect answers, how quickly you answer, scores, XP, EP, level, ELO rating, gems, win and daily streaks, achievements, missions, categories you play, and total play time.
- Social activity — your friends list, friend requests, and challenges you send or receive.
- Technical information — IP address, crash reports, and diagnostic logs used to keep the Game working.
1.3 If you play as a guest
You can play without registering. We still create an account for you and link it to your device so your progress can be saved. Guest progress is tied to that device: if you uninstall the Game, clear its data, or move to a new device without registering an email address first, that progress is normally lost and we cannot recover it.
2. How we use your information
- To create and maintain your account and let you sign in.
- To run the Game: matchmaking, live battles, scoring, levels, rewards, missions, streaks, the spin wheel, achievements and tournaments.
- To show leaderboards, online player counts, friends and challenges.
- To keep the Game fair — detecting cheating, automated play, duplicate accounts and abuse.
- To personalise your experience, such as suggesting categories and showing performance tips based on how you play.
- To display advertising, and to recognise players who have purchased an ad-free experience.
- To process in-app purchases and credit what you bought.
- To send you in-app and on-device notifications, such as reminders about your daily streak or a free spin. You can turn these off in your device settings.
- To diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and understand which features are used so we can improve the Game.
- To respond to your questions and feedback.
- To comply with the law and enforce our Terms & Conditions.
We process this information on the basis of the consent you give when you start using the Game, and because it is necessary to provide the service you have asked for. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time by contacting us or by deleting your account.
3. What other players can see
Some information is public inside the Game by design. Your username, profile photo, level, ELO rating, country and headline statistics may be visible to other players on leaderboards, in tournaments, in online player lists, on battle and result screens, and on your profile when someone views it as a friend or opponent.
Please do not use your real full name, your phone number, or any other information you would not want other players to see as your username or profile photo.
4. Advertising
The Game shows advertising supplied by Google AdMob. AdMob and its partners may use your device's advertising identifier to show ads, to limit how often you see the same ad, and to measure ad performance. Ads may be personalised based on information Google holds about your device.
- You can reset or delete your advertising identifier, and turn off ad personalisation, in your device settings (on Android: Settings → Google → Ads).
- You can remove ads by buying an ad-free option in the Game, where offered.
- Google's own practices are described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
5. Purchases
In-app purchases are processed by Google Play Billing. Your payment is handled entirely by Google — we never receive or store your card, UPI, bank or other payment details. We receive only a confirmation that a purchase succeeded, together with the product purchased and an order identifier, so that we can credit your account.
6. Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in the following situations:
- Google Firebase Authentication — to sign you in with Google and to secure accounts.
- Google Firebase Analytics — to understand, in aggregate, how the Game is used.
- Google Firebase Crashlytics — to receive crash and stability reports.
- Google AdMob — to deliver and measure advertising.
- Google Play Billing — to process in-app purchases.
- Our hosting and infrastructure providers — who store the Game's data and run its servers on our behalf, under contract, and may not use it for their own purposes.
- Other players — only the public profile information described in section 3.
- Authorities or third parties — where we are required to do so by law, or where it is necessary to investigate fraud, protect our rights, or protect the safety of our players.
- A successor — if the Game is transferred to, merged with, or acquired by another business, in which case this policy will continue to apply to the information transferred.
7. International transfers
The services listed above are operated by Google and by our infrastructure providers, and your information may be stored or processed on servers outside your country, including outside India. Where information is transferred, we take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected to the standard described in this policy.
8. How long we keep your information
- Account and gameplay information is kept for as long as your account is active.
- If you ask us to delete your account, we delete or irreversibly anonymise your personal information within 30 days, except where we must keep something longer to comply with the law, resolve a dispute, or prevent fraud and abuse.
- Records of purchases are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Inactive guest accounts may be removed automatically.
- Anonymised and aggregated statistics, which can no longer identify you, may be kept indefinitely.
9. Your rights
You may ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- correct information that is wrong or out of date;
- delete your account and the personal information associated with it;
- withdraw a consent you previously gave; or
- tell you more about how your information is handled.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from inside the Game: go to Settings → Delete Account, and type DELETE to confirm. This takes effect immediately.
If you cannot access the Game, email us at quizebattle@gmail.com from the email address registered to your account, with the subject line "Delete my account", and we will complete the deletion within 30 days.
When you delete your account we remove your name, username, email address, password, mobile number, profile photo, age, gender, country and device identifier, and the account is closed. Records of matches you played remain in the game history of the players you played against, but they are no longer linked to you or to any information that identifies you.
Deleting your account is permanent. Your progress, level, gems, purchases, achievements and any unclaimed rewards are lost and cannot be restored, and purchases already made are not refunded.
You can also edit or remove most of your profile information yourself at any time from within the Game.
10. Children
The Game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are under 18, you may use the Game only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian, who is responsible for your use of it, including any purchases.
If you believe a child has given us personal information without the consent of a parent or guardian, contact us at quizebattle@gmail.com and we will delete it.
11. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information: traffic between the Game and our servers is encrypted in transit, passwords are stored only as salted hashes, sign-in uses expiring tokens, and access to player data is restricted to the people who need it.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and do not share your account with anyone.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Game changes or as the law requires. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and, where the change is significant, we will tell you inside the Game. Continuing to play after a change means you accept the updated policy.
